Clinical Overview: Approach into the Classification and Management of Patients with Low Back Pain

$ 249.00

Description

This course is designed for rehabilitation-oriented healthcare providers who treat patients with low back pain (LBP). The course integrates the current best evidence for patients with LBP with the application of the regional interdependence model, the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).

The history, evidence, and clinical application of contemporary classification for patients with low back pain are also discussed. The treatment-based classification (TBC) and the recently proposed Specific Treatment for Problems of the Spine (STOPS) approach for physical therapy management of patients with low back pain are covered.

The course includes demonstrations of evidenced-based exam items and most common treatment techniques (manual therapy and therapeutic exercise) required to accurately place and effectively treat a patient in each of the 3 primary TBC categories (direction specific, mobilization and stabilization) and key associated categories from the STOPS approach. Clinical integration of SFMA findings and progressions to appropriate Functional Movement Systems discharge testing, along with “patient for life” strategies, are also covered.
