Case Study: A Client's First 5K and Her Million Dollar Question, "Can I Keep Running?"

Follow Jenna's movement journey with a 36 year old female training for her first 5K.  Using the FMS and Motor Control Screen, Jenna is able to identify Sarah's movement dysfunctions -- tracing back to her childhood -- to get Sarah on the right path to a successful inaugural race.

Jenna Gourlay graduated from Rutgers University in May 2014. She went on to complete the ProRehab and University of Evansville Sports Residency Program, and continues her involvement in the residency program acting as a mentor for the current residents.Jenna has continued her education through the Selective Functional Movement Assessment, the Functional Movement Systems, dry needling, neuroscience of pain education, and spinal manipulation. Jenna is also interested in teaching and acts as an adjunct professor at the University of Evansville.

    Awesome job Jenna, it looks like you really went for giving her exactly what she needed and it also sounds she trusted you in the process. I never thought about crawling using 6 points before like that. It seems so basic, but from a motor control perspective, if you can't crawl, then harder crawing variations would be more difficult.

    Great video case study!!! Can you expand on what the Upper and Lower Body Motor Control testing is and how you got those numbers? or direct me to where I can learn more about this? Thank you!
