FMS Insider: Movement Roundtable (Part 5) - Episode 2
Written by FMS FMS
Gray opens this segment by commenting on how he watches so many people train themselves out of good movement. Jeff adds that he notices this in particular when athletes perform the squat, an exercise that is associated with the concept "to be a good athlete you must be using big weight." He notices the danger often comes when the athlete's training focuses on quantity over quality or when the athlete starts training too sport specifically, opening the door for asymmetries. The panel discusses reseting the body to balance the athlete out and, from there, laying sport specific skill on top.
