SFMA Level 1
The SFMA Level 1 Virtual Certification Course includes both the 7 hour online course, as well as a 7 hour virtual event, where the background, philosophy, evidence, and logic of the assessment model will be covered.
The SFMA provides an efficient method for systematically determining the cause of the patient’s pain, not just the source. The SFMA is a repeatable diagnostic metric which begins with 7 full-body movements, known as the "Top Tier," to determine where further assessment is needed. A common logic is applied to all patterns to break down the movement in a systematic way to reach a movement diagnosis of either mobility or stability/motor control dysfunction.
This virtual certification course will feature live lecture and demonstration with an SFMA instructor. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with instructors and ask questions to ensure they are comfortable integrating the system into their clinical practice.
Following the virtual course, participants will gain access to the SFMA Level 1 Certification exam. Once the exam is passed, you will become certified in SFMA Level 1 and unlock a trail of the FMS Pro membership. Member benefits include the ability to audit a future SFMA Level 1 seminar for free, monthly members only content delivered to your inbox, the FMS Pro app with SFMA functionality, discounts on FMS online education, access to the members only exercise library and more.

SFMA Level 2
Course Prerequisites: Before attending the SFMA Level 2, you must have previously attended the SFMA Level 1 course.
The SFMA Level 2 Virtual Certification Course includes both the 9 hour online course, as well as a 7 hour virtual event, where we discuss how to prioritize your SFMA findings and apply the 3 R's - Reset, Reinforce, and Retrain
In the virtual course, there will be a focus on interventions designed to compliment the SFMA findings. The majority of the course will be dedicated to the demonstration and application of the 4 x 4 exercise matrix and the neurodevelopmental progression it follows. Key motor control oriented exercise progressions are provided for each top tier movement pattern assessed within the SFMA.
You will leave with a clearer understanding of treatment for Stability and/or Motor Control dysfunctions. Additionally, reset and reinforcement ideas will be discussed to allow the participant to gain a greater understanding of the clinical application of the model.
Following the virtual course, participants will gain access to the SFMA Level 2 Certification exam. Once the exam is passed, you will become certified in SFMA Level 2 and unlock a trial of the FMS Pro membership. Member benefits include the ability to audit a future SFMA Level 2 seminar for free, monthly members only content delivered to your inbox, the FMS Pro app with SFMA functionality, discounts on FMS online education, access to the members only exercise library and more.
