FMS Insider: The Bott Perspective - Episode 1
Written by FMS FMS
Brian Bott, strength coach for the University of Wisconsin, joins Lee Burton to discuss the implementation of FMS into an elite college football program. He explains that the players who do poorly on the FMS screen are often the same ones who are repeatedly seen in the training room for non-contact or soft tissue related injuries. He also notes that since using FMS, he has seen a much quicker return to play rate for those athletes.
Brian emphasizes the importance of creating a mobile and stable athlete first and then building your strength and conditioning program around that. According to Brian, the key is understanding that you can build strength while still focusing on a good foundation.
