Description
Redefine Wellness. Transform Movement.
What if you could measure more than just fitness—what if you could understand the full picture of wellbeing? The Functional Wellness Course gives you that insight. Backed by 20+ years of movement assessment expertise and powered by Symmio, this course shows you how to uncover the hidden connections between movement and overall health..
Our goal is to give movement professionals, clinicians, coaches, trainers—and anyone passionate about wellness—the tools to systematically understand and assess an individual’s overall state of being.
Leave with the Ability to:
-
Recognize Wellness as Foundational — address the right risk factors at the right time to reduce healthcare needs and improve readiness for physical activity.
-
Measure What Matters — pinpoint personal “weak links” through efficient, systematic evaluation of health and movement.
-
Apply Targeted Screening & Management — assess Lifestyle and Movement domains, identify risk factors, and implement strategies ranging from nutrition tips to professional referrals.
-
Redefine Wellness — understand that being “good enough” across life’s key domains is the true measure of functional wellness, not perfection or elite performance.
-
View Risk as Insight, Not Fear — use risk as a tool for early intervention, turning awareness into action to reduce or eliminate barriers to wellbeing.

What's Included
In this course, Gray Cook, Lee Burton, and Kyle Barrow break down the eight domains and focus on the interactive nature of these collective qualities that represent who you are. Some clearly take priority over others for immediate correction, while some are long-term markers of improving wellness. The domains discussed are:
- Behavioral Health
- Movement Health
- Injury History
- Breathing Quality
- Physical Activity
- Body Composition
- Sleep Quality
- Nutritional Awareness
When risk factors are identified in any domain, Symmio’s hierarchical screening structure helps you focus on what matters most — efficiently and effectively. The course walks you through how to use the app, from initial intake to tailored lifestyle and exercise recommendations. It also highlights how the system adapts to group-specific settings such as fitness, team sports, military, and corporate wellness programs.
