What's included in this Bundle

Lecture Series: The ABCs of Movement - The Strategy Behind Corrective Flows

Lecture length: 1 hour, 23 minutes

Changing movement isn’t about sets, reps or body parts. It’s about understanding why movement is broken in the first place as well as the stimulus that it needs to heal itself. Often, we make the paths to those changes more complex than they need to be, resulting in inefficient, ineffective programs that are nearly impossible to explain to clients.

In this lecture, Gray Cook will discuss the plasticity of the neurological system, its feedback and how we can use its desired sequence of actions to quickly change movement. This focus on awareness, breathing, and control is a simple and predictable way to ensure that the brain and body are fully connected and stay connected.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • The difference between a movement exercise and a movement experience
  • The A,B,C's of movement
  • Movement flows

Lecture Series: Where to Focus - Movement or Performance?

Lecture length: 1 hour, 43 minutes

The personalized touch of identifying the needs of the individual you are working with is the key to success.  This means having a system in place to make these educated decisions.  A balance of mobility and stability creates the movement foundation for higher level training and skills.

In this lecture, Dr. Lee Burton discusses our performance pyramid used to make the best decision for the individual you are working with.  With this framework, you will no longer be guessing on the proper course of action. You will have the metrics to guide your decision-making.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • The Performance Pyramid
  • Mobility versus Stability
  • The Role of the Neurodevelopmental Progression
  • Performance Testing and Purpose

Lecture Series: Training the Rotary Athlete from Cradle to Grave

Lecture length: 1 hour, 17 minutes

Athleticism begins at an early age - but not in the way many of you are thinking - sport specialization.  Rather, we should be taking a global approach by developing a foundation for athleticism with fundamental movement skills and a respect for the developmental process.

In this lecture, Dr. Greg Rose dives into the additional considerations needed when working with youth to build successful athletes.  If you are working with junior athletes, or plan to, this is a lecture you can't miss!

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • Developmental versus Biological age
  • Fundamental Movement Skills
  • ABC's of Athleticism
  • Windows of Opportunity

Lecture Series: Should we Screen/Test/Assess Movement? An Evidence-based Overview

Lecture length: 1 hour, 27 minutes

Musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders are the leading contributor to disability today and they are on the rise world-wide. Clinically identifiable movement-oriented risk factors have been identified in recent research. But what is being done to combat these ever-growing statistics?

In this lecture, Dr. Kyle Kiesel addresses why and how to take a functional approach to treating global movement dysfunction, using a standard operating procedure.  He introduces evidence-based movement screening and testing, primarily the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) Top Tier.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • Necessary variables for identifying MSK risk factors
  • A Standard Operating Procedure for assessing movement
  • Mobility versus motor control movement diagnosis

Lecture Series: Movement Systems Work Together: Appreciate Risk and Readiness

Lecture length: 1 hour, 23 minutes

The business of movement is about identifying the factors of movement that can be changed and the factors that cannot be changed. Teaching, training, coaching, and rehabilitation exist to connect individuals with their physical bodies and help them understand the responsibilities of a life lived moving well and often. We discover and create opportunities to better manage physical situations and today’s movement readiness and tomorrow’s movement risks are the best and first gauges to watch.

In this lecture, Gray Cook discusses using movement to identify appropriate decisions to help your clients be prepared and be proactive towards musculoskeletal health, to culture readiness and minimize risk.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • Readiness
  • Risk
  • Using a system to be proactive

Lecture Series: Enhance your Outcomes and Business through Movement Screening

Lecture length: 1 hour, 5 minutes

Movement screening can help us tailor the right program for each person's unique needs and goals.  The results we get from a person’s movement screen will allow us to create much more efficient and effective programs.

In this lecture, Dr. Lee Burton will focus on how to use movement screen results to not only improve overall outcomes but also to enhance time management.  Dr. Burton will also touch on how to use movement screening to increase referrals and retention which will lead to more business opportunities.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • Quality of exercise versus quantity of exercise
  • Self-Determination Theory (SDT)
  • Using screening, assessing, and testing to identify biggest opportunity
  • Purposeful use of Time

Lecture Series: The Body-Sport Connection

Lecture length: 1 hour, 34 minutes

Movement screens can give you information on why an athlete moves the way they do.  They can give you the "why" for the "what" they are doing.  Knowing this information is key to optimizing athletic performance.

In this lecture, Dr. Greg Rose discusses how movement screening is an important part of identifying the most common physical limitation seen in rotary athletes and will discuss how these limitations manifest themselves in altered sport mechanics.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • The role of movement screening in athletics
  • Development of athletic skills based on physical capabilities
  • Sport-specific movement requirements

Lecture Series: Principles for Athletes with Extension Orientated Low Back Pain

Lecture length: 1 hour, 36 minutes

Low Back Pain (LBP) is a common complaint, even in the athletic population.  Approximately 30% of athletes will experience debilitating LBP and 75% of elite athletes will have at least one LBP episode causing missed time.

The two most common medical diagnoses associated with athletic LBP, disc DDD and spondylolysis/spondylolisthesis, are thought to be closely related to flexion and extension movement pain respectively. Clearly identifying flexion versus extension pain is a critical step to successful treatment and return to play. For athletes with extension pain, emerging evidence suggests identifiable movement impairments often exist that contribute to their LBP which are largely not addressed in currently extension LBP programs.

In this lecture, Dr. Kyle Kiesel focuses on the appropriate recognition and treatment principles for athletes with extension-oriented LBP.

You will leave this lecture with a better understanding about:
  • Suggested procedure for LBP assessment
  • Treatment Based Classification (TBC) system
  • Current research surrounding LBP and specific diagnoses
  • Guidelines on exercise prescription for LBP
