Assisted Half Kneeling Shoulder Flexion/Extension Cervical Rotation

This is a drill to assist the cervical rotation pattern in the supported position.

This is a drill to assist cervical rotation. 
 
Set-Up: Begin in a half kneeling posture by placing one knee down directly under the hip and the other foot should be in line with the knee, this will create the 90/90 position. Depending on the individual, the width of the front foot can be adjusted for balance. .  Hold the band in each hand. 
 
Action: Then pull the band apart by flexing your right shoulder and extending left shoulder simultaneously. Maintaining arm position, rotate the head to the right towards the arm flexed overhead. Make sure the body remains stable while the head rotates.
 
Return: Lower the head back to the floor, then returning arms to the position above chest in a controlled manner. Repeat the process, switching arm positions. (Special Note:  Cervical rotation should always be towards the shoulder flexed overhead)
