SFMA LEVEL I
SFMA Big 7 Patterns
An Introduction to the Selective Functional Movement Assessment

  • Philosophy focus on Patterns and need for Movement Assessment

  • Specifics on each of the Big 7 Patterns (what to look for and why)

  • Introduction to the concept of breakouts (how do we breakdown a dysfunctional movement?)

  • Introduction into intervention philosophy (Isolate/Integrate/Functional Pattern)

Complete SFMA Level I Certification Exam and become listed as "Level I" on SFMA website

Course 3

SFMA LEVEL II
Analysis of Movement Dysfunction and Focus on Manual Therapy Intervention

  • Review of the Big Seven

  • Details of each Breakout (flowcharts)

  • Is it a Mobility vs. Stability Problem?

  • Inner Core" function and dysfunction

  • Specific therapeutic exercise progressions and taping techniques

  • Key exercise instruction; Chop/Lift, Deadlift, segmental rolling, intro to kettlebell training for rehabilitation

  • Complete SFMA Level II Exam and become priority listed as "Level II" on SFMA website

Course 4

Functional Movement Systems Internship Experience "Putting it all Together"

This unique educational experience brings the best of what the Functional Movement Team has to offer. Participants will enjoy 4 exciting days of hands-on learning. This experience utilizes the latest in learning theory to ensure you not only enjoy the experience but that the information sticks!

Participants will work in small groups and topics covered include: SFMA, FMS, YBT, group testing, athletic LBP, working with professional athletes, evidence-based practice and kettlebells for rehab. Each participant will present a case to the group and expert feedback will be provided on presentation style.

  • Complete Functional Movement Systems Internship Experience and become listed as "Functional Movement Specialist" (highest priority) on SFMA, FMS, and YBT websites
